Hi There! My name is Vanessa Barthelmes and I am an aerial instructor, flexibility coach, international swimsuit model and blogger. You can usually find me with my little man Harrison or hanging out with my bestie Isabell!
Here are a few questions I frequently get asked.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Wollongong, NSW Australia (90 minutes south of Sydney). I moved to Sydney at 21 and immigrated to Floridas in 2017.
How long have you been doing Aerial?
I started acro yoga back in 2015 as part of my 200 hour yoga teacher training. This naturally transitioned to my love for all things aerial. I started Aerial Hoop also known as Lyra in 2015 after being introduced to this apparatus by my beloved instructor Sally Shaw from Sydney Trapeze school. I started performing at the age of 3 and attended Wollongong High School of the Performing Arts, a selective performing arts high school majoring in dance.
What qualifications do you have?
Masters of Business, Diploma of Health Science, Certified Yoga Instructor, Certified Les Mills Body Jam Instructor, Certified Educator & Most of all certified Dog Lover
When did you start modeling?
I landed my first T.V commercial at the ripe old age of nine years old. My sports modeling career really kicked of in 2001 when I landed my first overseas magazine. I have been featured in Maxim, MTV, FHM, Ralph, GC, Cosmopolitan, Inside Sport and NAFA magazines just to name a few.
Why did you start a blog?
I love being creative and sharing my knowledge on everything I adore. Flexibility, dance, and aerial arts.
How tall are you?
I am 5’6″!
