I am so excited for our new venture in podcasting. I came up with the idea to podcast aerial instruction because how many times do you keep looking at videos back and forth to only get up in the air and be spacially disorientated. Play the instruction on loop until you nail the moves!
You can download the podcasts or stream it live from the podcast item on the main menu. It is compatible with iOS and Android.
Soon we will also be on Spotify woo!
Intermediate Lyra Sequence
Ball tuck to knees, to Russian split, to single knee hocks hang.
Audio Copy: Welcome to the JV podcast where we guide you through new aerial moves and flows. This is Garrett Barthelmes and I’ll be hosting today’s podcast. Remember that you should always use the mat and have an instructor to spot you when learning new moves.
Today we are talking you through Ball tuck to knees, to Russian split, to single knee hocks hang.
From a top bar knee hang, place your hands in a front grip, at 10 & 2 o’clock on the Lyra. Tuck your body into a tight ball and continue to rotate your body backwards, continue to come all the way through until you shins and ankles reach the bottom of the bar.
Bring the space between your toes and the ball of your foot to the bar. Extend one leg and ensure that it comes under the bar into a split. The same leg then comes back under the bar and hooks onto the top bar. Finish the single knee hocks hang by taking your hands to the lower bar and push the bar away from you into single knee scarab.
Let me know how you went!
